Sweet Potato Pie Dog Recipe
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- Peel the sweet potatoes and mash them in a mixing bowl. Beat in the egg yolks, maple syrup, salt, allspice, ginger, and cloves. Beat the egg whites until stiff in another bowl. Stir a spoonful of whites into the sweet potato mixture, and then add the remaining whites.
- Turn filling into pie crust and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until filling is just set. Serve at room temperature. You can make two 9-inch pies with this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 6 large cooked sweet potatoes
- 4 large eggs, separated
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 unbaked 9-inch pie crusts
