Rover's Roux or Good Doggie Gravy Dog Recipe

Preparation:
Heat drippings over medium heat in the roasting pan or a saucepan. Add flour slowly and cook until browned, stir constantly. Slowly stir in the broth or water and bouillon powder and cook, stir, until gravy is thick. Add salt if broth was used. You can make 4 cups of gravy with this recipe.

Ingredients:

• ½ cup pan drippings
• ½ cup unbleached all-purpose flour
• 4 cups Basic Dog Broth or 4 cups water mixed with 4 tablespoons beef bouillon
• Pinch of salt (optional)

Here's a brilliant way to use up pan drippings from a roast or chops. The drippings might be too high in cholesterol for your family, but they won't go to waste if you make this thick gravy—it is the right thing to ladle over leftover meat and kibble.
