Note: This is an energetic dish that will appeal to both sporting and pampered dogs. The Irish setter perfectly fits both descriptions. Blessed with great beauty, the silky Irish setter has begun to predominate as a show dog, and its stamina and loyalty in the field have been somewhat overlooked in recent years. A late bloomer and a natural clown, setters can be difficult to train, but it's said that the lessons, once learned, will last throughout its long lifetime.
In this recipe the combination of potatoes and cheese provides a hearty change of pace along with plenty of vitamins C and B. Dogs who must tolerate extremes of temperature actually need more B complex vitamins in their diet.
