Oatcakes Dog Recipe
Preparation:
- Heat milk over reasonably low heat until just warmed through in a large saucepan. Stir in the oats and permit it to stand 10 minutes.
- Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt. Add egg to oatmeal mixture, and then stir in the flour mixture. Add oil. The batter will be very substantial.
- Melt the butter in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Place 2 tablespoons of batter for each oatcake and cook until golden brown on both sides. Serve while hot; they taste delicious with a touch of maple syrup, which dogs love. Refrigerate the left over oatcakes. You can make about 72 pancakes with this recipe.

Note: Oatmeal, like cornmeal should be a staple grain in your dog's diet. Oats have a calming effect, and they are useful in helping to clean the system and assist in tissue growth, a valuable help for the sick or recuperating dog. Oats in any form make a delicious breakfast or midday snack for dogs. These oatcakes are low-priced, simple to prepare, and wholesome.
