Oatcakes Dog Recipe

Oatcakes Dog Recipe

Preparation:

  1. Heat milk over reasonably low heat until just warmed through in a large saucepan. Stir in the oats and permit it to stand 10 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt. Add egg to oatmeal mixture, and then stir in the flour mixture. Add oil. The batter will be very substantial.
  3. Melt the butter in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Place 2 tablespoons of batter for each oatcake and cook until golden brown on both sides. Serve while hot; they taste delicious with a touch of maple syrup, which dogs love. Refrigerate the left over oatcakes. You can make about 72 pancakes with this recipe.

Ingredients:
4 cups of milk
2 cups of rolled oats
2 cups of unbleached all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
2 teaspoons of salt
2 eggs, beaten
6 tablespoons of unsalted butter

Note:
Oatmeal, like cornmeal should be a staple grain in your dog's diet. Oats have a calming effect, and they are useful in helping to clean the system and assist in tissue growth, a valuable help for the sick or recuperating dog. Oats in any form make a delicious breakfast or midday snack for dogs. These oatcakes are low-priced, simple to prepare, and wholesome.
