Egg Salad Dog Recipe

 

Preparation:

  1. Peel the eggs, cut into small wedges, and place in mixing bowl. Mix the onions, mayonnaise, mustard, herb or curry powder, and salt and pepper to taste in another bowl. Pour the sauce over the eggs and toss lightly. Spread the bread pieces on a plate and distribute the egg mixture over them.
  2. Leftover egg salad should be covered tightly and refrigerated for no longer than 1 day. You can make 4 cups of egg salad with this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 10 hard-cooked eggs
  • 2 small finely chopped Bermuda onions
  • ½ cup chopped fresh dill or parsley or 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup Dijon mustard
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 or 6 slices bread, preferably pumpernickel or rye, cut into bite-size pieces

Note:
This recipe contains raw onions, a vegetable that some dogs find not very tasty. You might need to experiment to see what works best for your dog. In addition to their beneficial toning and cleansing effects, onions are considered to be useful in discouraging worms and other parasites.
