Note: The cocker spaniel is one breed that should be very cautious of gaining extra weight. Take Maxie, for example, an affable cocker residing at a Guest House in Detroit, A regular fixture on the sunny breakfast porch, Maxie begs a bit of scone from one guest, a crumb of croissant from another, a morsel of muffin from a third, day in and day out. For Maxie, this amounts to hundreds of not needed calories a day—an occupational danger that keeps his owner ever watchful about Maxie's weight.
