Canine Breakfast Recipes
The standard dog has a busy daily schedule that requires a wholesome breakfast. While it doesn’t need to be a full meal, your dog will appreciate the bit of extra energy that a little light food provides. If you remember how dragged out you feel if you miss a meal or two during the day, picture how difficult it must be for dogs to fast until dinner, continuously. Also, one heavy meal at the end of the day can augment your pet's weight, especially if your dog has little else to do after the evening meal but sleep and convert those unused calories to dog flab.
A light breakfast will set your dog up for the day. It's easy to prepare a very easy serving of food, since a large amount of dogs like cereal—shredded wheat, cream of wheat or rice, wheat germ, oatmeal, or bran. The cereal can be mixed with plain yogurt, milk, or stock. Don't rule out usual warm breakfast foods that people eat. Most dogs love pancakes and French toast. You can integrate leftovers in a creative way: vegetables, beans, cheeses—all are a pleasurable breakfast for your dog.
