Baked Potatoes with Cheese and Meat Stuffing Dog Recipe

Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 425° F.
  • Scrub potatoes, pierce the skin with tines of fork, wrap in foil and bake for 45 to 60 minutes, or until tender when pierced.
  • Place meat in a cold skillet and cook over medium heat breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon until it is no longer pink while potatoes are baking. Add salt and pepper to taste and drain off any fat that has accumulated in pan. Scrape meat into a mixing bowl.
  • Split potatoes in half lengthwise and scoop pulp into bowl with meat. Add cheese and Worcestershire sauce; mix well. Pile filling into potato shells, place potatoes on baking sheets and bake 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Sprinkle with chives and serve. You can make 8 stuffed potato halves with this recipe.
  • Ingredients:
  • 4 large Idaho baking potatoes
  • 16 ounces ground beef, pork, or lamb
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cups grated Muenster cheese
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 teaspoons chopped fresh chives or green top of scallions

Note:
These tasty stuffed baked potatoes are sufficiently filling to satisfy the giant breeds, among them the shaggy Irish wolfhound, weighing in at over 100 pounds. A superb hunter, the breed has stalked lion on safari in Africa and coyotes, timber wolves, and elk on other continents. By now, of course, the Irish wolfhound is a submissive and loyal companion, contented to eat on domestic fare.
