- Transfer grits to a mixing bowl and beat in eggs, 1 ½ cups of cheese, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour mixture into baking dish and spread remaining cheese on top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste, dot with butter, and bake for 1 hour. Let grits stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Wrap the leftovers well in plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate or freeze. You can make 4 quarts grits with this recipe.
Ingredients: 2 cups of hominy grits 10 cups of water 4 large beaten eggs 3 cups of shredded Cheddar cheese 2 cups of milk 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce Salt Freshly ground black pepper 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
Note: a large amount dogs are not interested in hominy grits which are served plain, so it's prudent to embellish them with a scrumptious gravy or with cheese.
